Some links on The Chef Files are affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, the site earns a small commission at no additional cost to you. Commissions help cover hosting, photography, and testing ingredients for future recipes.
Amazon Associates
The Chef Files is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. Our Amazon Associates tag is thecheffiles2-20. You will see it appended to any Amazon product link on this site.
How we choose what to link
Products featured in the Shop This Recipe section of each post are tools actually used in that recipe, tested in a real kitchen. They are not paid placements. Brand selection is based on performance at service, price sanity, and availability. If a tool we use has multiple brand options at similar quality, we pick the one most readers are likely to already own.
Pricing and availability
Prices, availability, and product listings on Amazon change frequently. Any price referenced on The Chef Files may be out of date by the time you click. Always confirm the current price before purchasing.
What affiliate links do not affect
- The price you pay.
- Which recipes we develop and publish.
- Honest technique notes, including when a cheaper tool works fine and a pricier one is unnecessary.
- Editorial content. No brand pays for placement here.
Digital products
The Chef Files also sells two first-party digital products — the Evidence File and the Dinner Party Dossier — through Gumroad. Those are direct sales, not affiliate links. Payment goes through Gumroad; the books are delivered as PDFs.
